73% of the trail/route system is on State Forest land. Trails are lightly groomed and offer a variety of riding opportunities.

Paint River Watertrail

A 5-Mile route along the paint river, part of a larger, 65-mile river system. Other leisurely routes and more information can be found at the Bates Township Recreation Website.

Bring Your Camera

Iron County and the Upper Peninsula in general, are flush with waterfalls. There are Seven falls in close proximity to the lake house.

Known for its snow, Iron County boasts an elite trail system maintained by local snowmobile clubs. Our property serves as an ideal home base to access the the rest of the UP trails!

Known for having the longest ski season in the midwest, Ski Brule offers a family-friendly atmosphere. Just 15-minutes from the lakehouse!

Smallest Village in America with a Brewery!

Setting aside profits to enrich the community, Alpha brews with a purpose. The brewery is located in Alpha, MI, 24 miles from the lakehouse but just minutes from Bewabic State Park- sounds like a great day trip to me!

An Upper Peninsula Staple

The Upper Peninsula is known for its pasties, Iron River is no exception. Pasty Corner fresh bakes pasties daily with rotating specials and frozen options to take for the freezer. The restaurant is even outfitted with a drive-through. Don't miss it!
